God spoke to me yesterday. Clear and concise, God deposited a much-needed word in me.
Before, I share with you those words, let me set the scene.
I had driven a couple of hours to the coast for an overnight trip for some ministry planning. On the morning we were leaving I took a walk on the beach to relax and pray. Here’s a brief excerpt from my prayer time with Lord:
Me: (Looking out over the rolling waves) Father, thank you for your amazing creation.
God: I did that for you.
Me: Well, you created this for everyone, sure.
God: You are part of the everyone, but I want you to know that you’re not just part of the crowd, I can do for all and for one.
Me: Ok….Lord, would you help me..
God: You need to get that…this is for you. It’s not selfish or conceited to receive my gifts.
Me: Got it. Would you help me as a Husband, Dad, and Pastor to…
God: What about just you? You are not just a carrier of duties and titles. I love you. I love Nathan. I love you more than what you do in my name. I love you. I will help you. I will carry you. But, more than anything you need to know that I love you. Right where you’re standing…I love you.
I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear those words. Perfect timing for a perfect reminder. Let me remind you, Before you are anyone, you are loved by God.
Take some time to read Psalm 136. Let God’s word wash over you as you reflect on God’s unfailing love. Read through the chapter again and make the Psalmist’s prayer your own. Be reminded that: You. Are. Loved. I’m praying with you.
