A Christian Response to the Rise of “Gay Marriage”

Over the last fews years, months, and days, we’ve seen an escalation in the moral decay of our society. With the recent Supreme Court victory giving a federal endorsement of so called, “gay marriage” it begs the question, how does a Christian respond in the face of this wave of moral depravity in our world?

A Christian Response to the Rise of Gay Marriage

Here are 3 Guide Posts:

1. Pray. Pray that God’s kingdom would be done on earth as it is in heaven. Pray that The Church will remember who the enemy is, that our fight isn’t against flesh and blood; our fight isn’t against “those sinners”, but against Satan and the evil age he’s established. Pray that The Church would share the gospel and love the lost like never before.

2. Stay Engaged: It would be easy to take up a mindset of “Us vs. Them” and go join a Christian militia in the hills somewhere or maybe become a cranky crusader for truth. Instead, stay lovingly engaged in bringing God’s love and truth into our neighborhoods, schools, the marketplace, our government, and world. Remember, we can’t expect people that are not saved to act like they are; you were once blind to the truth as well. The gospel will offend, but let it be the gospel that’s offending them and not you.

3. Remember you’re a pilgrim: Once you place your faith in Jesus, you become part of a royal priesthood, an alien in a foreign land (1 Pet. 2:9-11). You are now in the world, but not of it (John 17:14). This means we’re called to live a counter-cultural lifestyle. We don’t live a different life out of legalism, but out of our love for God and others. With this new citizenship we’re called to unabashedly proclaim the truth in love. In the midst of our pluralistic society don’t go soft on the truth in an effort to not make waves or offend. Denying the truth is the most unloving thing you can do to someone.

Here’s the truth: these times are not a surprise to God. The cross is just as effective today as it was two thousand years ago. Stand firm in the power of His might.

  1. I’ve learned result-oriented things from a blog post. Yet another thing to I have observed is that in most cases, FSBO sellers may reject an individual. Remember, they would prefer not to ever use your solutions. But if you actually maintain a steady, professional romance, offering assistance and remaining in contact for about four to five weeks, you will usually manage to win interviews. From there, a listing follows. Thanks
